Genomics, society and health

This Nowgen Schools Genomics Programme film is intended for teachers’ professional development. The film presents a group of the UK’s leading experts in genetics, medicine and bioethics as they discuss ethical and social issues resulting from modern genomic research. Professors Steve Jones, Jane Worthington, Dian Donnai and John Harris come together to discuss a range of issues that arise from this new field of research. The discussion is chaired by educational expert, Dr Ralph Levinson. Issues explored include how our experience of medicine will change and will drug treatments become more personalised? And what can we predict about ourselves and our health from knowing our genome?
